Course content

This modern qualification combines activities, learning and interactive materials to provide you with an interesting and engaging experience. It focuses on key skills that means you can instantly apply the knowledge you gain and add value to your organisation.

Assessment is a two-step process:
Element 1-4
Element 1-4 Assessment
Unit IG1: Management of health and safety Question paper (one 20-mark question and ten 8-mark questions)
Element 5-11
Element 5-11 Assessment

Unit IG2: Risk Assessment

Prerequisites

No previous health and safety knowledge is required.

The standard of English required by candidates studying the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety must be such that they can both understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that students should reach the equivalent of a scoring of 6.0 or higher under the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Recognition

Holders of the NEBOSH International General Certificate are entitled to Associate Membership (AIOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The qualification also meets the academic requirements for Technical Membership (Tech IOSH) of IOSH.

Assessment

There is an end-of-course assessment made up of 30 multi-format questions. There’s also a work-based risk assessment task to be completed within two weeks of the end of the course
